Focused on the integration of generation, transmission and distribution systems in the region, Newfoundland Power prides itself on putting its patrons first and offering a number of billing, payment and property management options to meet the needs of its clients and provide the best in customer service.
In an effort to optimize its systems and offer a premium experience to its clientele, Newfoundland Power turned to the Sitecore platform as a way to improve ease of maintenance on the website, and make it more flexible and extendable. The company also wanted to make the site more visually appealing by incorporating a new design that would be mobile-friendly.
To achieve these goals, Newfoundland Power chose to work with Momentum, a leader in digital solutions across North America and the U.K.
Momentum is a trusted partner in helping companies enhance customer engagement, streamline e-commerce operations and improve collaboration, but knowing Apiqu is a Sitecore development and certified solution partner, Momentum chose to team up with Apiqu on the rebuilding and auditing of major account, billing, payment and property management modules.
Apiqu wanted to provide the utmost in value and immediately set out to create a back-end system for Newfoundland Power that would provide customers with full access to new pages and allow them to easily manage accounts, bills, payments and more.
Despite some challenges including a very tight project timeline and outdated technology with little background about what had been implemented, updated and customized, Apiqu dove in headfirst. Working around the clock, the team was determined to understand the previous technology and improve it with a fully functional and simplified Sitecore platform.
With limited time in which to complete the project, Apiqu knew it would be essential to work collaboratively with all of its team members in order to deliver a premium product within the deadline.
Using an agile delivery process, Apiqu ensured open communication with a working group at Newfoundland Power and provided daily updates and information on new features, along with weekly demonstrations for the customer.
Apiqu used Sitecore to provide a wide array of capabilities that allowed the team to customize and extend options in order to meet the specific needs of its customer. The platform’s flexibility provided the opportunity to implement all of the features Newfoundland Power had on its old website, as well as providing a new, high quality, easy to maintain product.
Apiqu was able to successfully use its capability and skills to work with Newfoundland Power’s team and provide a premier product on time and within their budget.
While many of Apiqu’s projects involve using Sitecore to implement a first-rate content management system, this assignment challenged the team to develop a complex back-end enterprise platform for Newfoundland Power.
The platform now offers a best-in-class enterprise-level framework that can be used for content management and business application implementation. Apiqu also integrated scalable Sitecore architecture to provide Newfoundland Power with an infinite array of opportunities to create new functionalities and features for their customers without having to bring in external resources and spend additional capital.
